Summary:
By means of a magic talisman called a "dreamcatcher," everyone's favorite Goblin King invades the troubled dreams of college freshman Sarah Williams, ruthlessly playing on her deepest fears and insecurities arising from her relationship with her actress mother (or lack thereof) and her own future acting career (or lack thereof). With the help of friend and would-be boyfriend Monty, Sarah must struggle to come to terms with her mother's neglect and its continuing impact upon her life, or fall victim to Jareth's obsession.

Disclaimer and Credits:
Jareth, Sarah, Linda Williams, and the Labyrinth belong to the late, great Jim Henson, his studios, and possibly Tristar Video. The characters of Montgomery "Monty" Harrison Collins, Mark Reyes, Dr. Lawrence Ashby, Sam Marin, Ian MacKenzie, Stephan Therien, Adam Leeds, and the entire fictional Broadway cast of "Romeo and Juliet" are mine. This fanfiction has been created purely for entertainment purposes. No monetary profits of any kind will result from its creation. Please don't sue me.
I have read a great deal of Labyrinth fanfic since I have been on the mailing list, and it is probably inevitable that some of it has penetrated into my subconscious. If you find that I have unintentionally used a phrase or an idea that too closely mirrors one of yours, please let me know and I will either change it or give you proper credit. : )
Jareth's song in Chapter Four is "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche, while his song in Chapter Eight is a combination of "Shades" and "Carpe Diem" by Echolyn, a band whose music is said to sound like a cross between Gabriel-era Genesis and XTC. The lyrics quoted in Chapter Seven are from "Juliet," by Stevie Nicks. The song "Don't Look Back Now," briefly mentioned in Chapter Five and soon to be prominently featured in an as-yet-unwritten later chapter, is actually the Donna Lewis song "Simone." I've taken the title "Simone" and transferred it to the play Linda Williams once starred in while singing "Don't Look Back Now" as her solo. Monty's song in Chapter Ten is "Snow on the Sahara" by Anggun.
"Romeo and Juliet" belongs, of course, to Shakespeare. Like I'm really going to try to cop the credit for that!
Sarah's blue velvet dress in Chapter Seven and Eight was inspired by Listian Pale Jewel's Labyrinth ballgown. Jareth's blue rose was inspired by Bleurose, another Labyrinth Listian, and the blue roses she distributed at that same Labyrinth Ball.
